The Law and Technology Society (“L-Tech”) is a student-run initiative of the Student Bar Association at the National Law School of India University, Bangalore.
L-Tech is a 15-member committee actively engaged in academic research and the promotion of the role technology plays in law and policy.
In furtherance of this mandate, we organise lectures, panel discussions, and interact with government and industry through policy initiatives and response papers. In the past year, we have played an active role in the data privacy conversation happening in the country through various submissions made to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.
We also organised the 2nd edition of the Law and Liberty Conference in collaboration with the Centre for Civil Society, Delhi. The conference focused on various aspects of the rapidly developing digital space in India, such as digitisation of public service delivery and the regulation of digital payments services. These activities help us build towards our flagship event, ‘Consilience’, organised annually since 2001.
